In every respect, they are the very best feature of this large and grand property. In every encounter, the staff at the hotel was wonderful to us-warm, gracious, and welcoming. The hotel is new and is experiencing growing pains. Casino: Won BIG – $150! :-) Summary: Recommended, will stay here again. (Need a ride, a bit too far to walk.) If you're a shopaholic, there's also a large outlet mall nearby. (I've posted separate reviews for each restaurant.) Promenade: Some great views and places for photos with DC or the river in the background: Kids: First and foremost, it’s a casino but National Harbor and its Ferris wheel over the Potomac is nearby. Food at Fish was also excellent, and the bar area has great views overlooking the Potomac. The bar/lounge area is quiet if you need a break from the hustle and bustle. The steakhouse was great, food was excellent. Restaurants: 5 stars – ate at both Voltagglio’s and Fish. Recommended – spend a couple of extra dollars for a room with a view of either DC (can see the Washington Monument, etc.) or overlooking the Potomac River and Olde Town Alexandria. And actually, it was a great show! Rooms: 5 stars – modern, clean, etc. :-) Stayed here overnight so my wife could see her idol (Barry Manilow) in concert.
which you would expect from a brand-new billion-dollar facility.
